20 reasons why Young Living is my dream job

20 reasons why Young Living is my dream job

A little over a year ago I said “yes” to something different. I didn't know how it would turn out, I was nervous and scared but I realized that if I wanted different results than what I was getting, I would have to take action and change the very habits that were giving me my results.

I had been gifted a starter kit of oils from my sister and a friend. I was slowly using the oils and getting more comfortable with them when I heard about an opportunity attached to them. To work from home and create income from sharing this product.

I dove into the education, and a mentorship to learn more, to understand what this truly was (and it was so different than I had expected). I started sharing, started seeing the opportunity differently, and eventually quit my nursing job to pursue this instead. That happened after I realized a few important things, here’s a list of the reasons why Young Living is my dream job:

  1. Flexible hours. I work when I want, no one tells me to show up or when to show up.

  2. I work for a company with Christian values, and work in a way that is constantly helping other humans (way more than I was able to help as a nurse).

  3. Residual income. This one deserves its own blog post but I’ll keep it simple. Instead of trading my time for money (or cutting off my income when we have kids someday) I build my income now and it keeps coming in forever. Even if I don’t work in the future when we have kids.

  4. That residual or “passive” income I just mentioned? It is willable to my children. I am setting our family up now for abundance, and keeping them out of “survival” mode.

  5. Freedom. Time freedom is something I have always wanted and tried to create but it just wasn’t possible as a nurse. I had to ask for days off, get my vacation time approved, miss out on so many gatherings or events, especially on weekends. Not any more.

  6. Wellness. I went from taking care of people who are sick to coming to the other side. Teaching people how to stay well. I absolutely love these products and the quality of them. They pretty much sell themselves and make my job easy. Honestly sometimes I am not sure what I love more. The products or the business side of Young Living.

  7. Unlimited sick days. I am actually feeling like my body is fighting something right now. So I slept in, grabbed all of the natural support that I could find, and didn’t have to call in or use up my sick days. I work for myself, I get to mold my work around what is happening on a daily basis.

  8. Friendships. I just got back from a leadership retreat that was run by a member of my “upline.” She paid for us to meet each other, stay in an air bnb just a block from the beach, all of our food, etc. All because we work together. We rise by lifting others up. The competition melts away and you are only left with community. I have met so many amazing, like minded friends through Young Living.

  9. New mindsets. Working this way pulls you “out of the matrix” so to speak. I never knew that I could work differently and create passive income. I never knew that I did not have to live in debt, riding payment plans forever. I honestly thought my path was set for me, and this taught me that you can change your life when you change your mindset. And that has truly set me free from so many ideas that are stuck in our minds. Ideas that can keep us in the same unhealthy patterns for our entire life.

  10. The tax benefits of running your own business

  11. The start up cost for this business is $165 (for products you use, that’s not a fee)

  12. No inventory or shipping. Young Living does that for me.

  13. This job allowed me to get the things we wanted in our home because our paychecks started covering the products pretty fast. Natural cleaners, toxin free supplements, oils, make up, personal care products. It took me from poverty mindset “I can’t afford that” to abundance mindset “how can I get those things I want for our wellness?”

  14. I can work from home or work from anywhere! My bed, a coffee shop, on my phone while waiting in line, literally anywhere.

  15. The power of a team. I am enrolling people, but my business grows from who they enroll, and who those people enroll as well. It’s compound interest, both with people and money.

  16. The personal growth. This business slowly but surely allows you to become the best version of yourself. The leaders, books, podcasts, and examples of people who are truly world changers will peel away layers of insecurity, allowing us to step out of line- and into our full potential. The more we develop ourselves, the more we have to give back to the world.

  17. No income ceiling.

  18. Autonomy. I get to run my business that way I want to run it, on my terms, in my style. That can look different for everyone. There is nothing about fitting the mold and everything about doing this in your way. Online, in person, part time, full time, with classes or one on ones, any way you want it to look, that’s how you get to run your business.

  19. Sustainable. Both the business and the products.

  20. Purpose. I never felt this purpose to help others with their wellness and finances until Young Living. The purpose in this is what drives me to keep sharing. Because I know I’ve got something amazing, something worth fighting for.

Network marketing comes with challenges. It’s not always easy and I’ll be the first to admit that. But this opportunity is better. It is better than missing out, it’s better than trading time for money, it’s better than living in survival mode for a lifetime, it’s better than staying at a fixed income or getting raises that don’t even come close to the rise in the cost of living. It’s better than being told when I can spend time with friends and family.

“Network marketing isn't perfect but it’s better.”
