Travel diaries: week twelve
All good things must come to an end.
Week twelve, our last one on the road! This is so bittersweet for us. We just spent a week and a half with family in South Dakota and Minnesota, slowed our pace, and had time to reflect on our travels before heading back to our home state of Michigan.
We now get to plan our next step (which would have been traveling abroad if it weren’t for the current restrictions), and grow in a different way than we had anticipated. Life is funny in this way, and we are finding it easier and easier to just go with the flow in 2020.
We are anxious and excited to learn new skills, and see what we can make of this unexpected time in our life. Of course we will be sharing those plans here, once we map it out a little better, and have an understanding of where we want to be next.
We enjoyed a few of our favorite stops along the way. The black rocks in Marquette are great for a swim in Lake Superior. My favorite hiking in Michigan is along the North country trail in Munising. We were crunched for time but made sure to do a portion of the trail for good measure. It was just as beautiful as we remembered.
Being home with a lot of our family has been such a blessing. We are getting so much intentional time with our nieces and nephews, our siblings and parents. These moments, are even more important than the adventurous ones.
We know very well that “someday these will be the good old days.”
If you have followed along with our entire road trip, or are just joining us here, we are so grateful for you! We have felt so encouraged and loved while we stepped out to live our dreams, one baby step at a time. We will absolutely be sharing our next chapter right here on the blog, and look forward to connecting with you more.
